The Fairfield County Health Department practices an integrated pest management approach to mosquito control which includes trapping adults to identify problem areas and testing for West Nile Virus, treating standing water with larvicide, draining breeding sites when possible, and spraying to kill adult mosquitoes when needed.
FCHD sprays an EPA-certified product to kill adult mosquitoes from an FCHD-marked vehicle during dusk hours.
In the case of rain or high winds, the spraying will be rescheduled for next week.
