Metro Parks launches mobile app with OuterSpatial!

Columbus & Franklin County Metro Parks (Metro Parks) is excited to announce its official launch on the OuterSpatial app, offering residents and visitors an enhanced way to explore the natural beauty and recreational opportunities within Metro Parks. By joining the Ohio Trails+ community on OuterSpatial, users gain access to interactive maps, detailed trail information, real-time conditions, upcoming events, and points of interest across all 20 Metro Parks. This launch provides an accessible and dynamic tool for visitors to discover, enjoy, and learn about central Ohio’s unique natural spaces.

OuterSpatial is widely used by the federal government, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and other Ohio agencies, serving as a global outdoor recreation and mapping resource for adventurers across the state.

With the app, visitors can:

  • Access interactive maps for easy planning and navigation.
  • Stay informed with up-to-date trail conditions and points of interest.
  • Share experiences, photos, and connect with fellow outdoor enthusiasts.
  • Find upcoming challenges and events at Metro Parks.

The app also features the Step into Spring challenge, inviting visitors to explore 20 different trails across 20 Metro Parks while searching for signs of spring. Participants who complete the challenge can win Metro Parks collectibles and prizes. Additional challenges will be introduced throughout the year to encourage more people to get outside and enjoy the parks.
