The Victoria Players Children’s Theater (VPCT) is set to dazzle audiences with its rendition of Les Miserables School Edition, running July 25-28 at Liberty Union High School. This highly lauded production promises to be a highlight of the summer, showcasing the talents of 36 young actors from around Fairfield County and beyond.
Les Miserables remains faithful to Victor Hugo’s original masterpiece. The production is almost entirely sung offering a unique and immersive experience. To enhance audience understanding, historical facts about the show and Hugo’s narrative will be included in the program.

VPCT continues to draw participants from a wide area, including Baltimore, Pickerington, Grove City, Gahanna, Lancaster, Sugar Grove, Carroll, Lithopolis, New Lexington, Bremen, Rushville, Pataskala, and beyond. This diverse involvement underscores the theater’s role in fostering a vibrant arts community.
The performances are scheduled for Thursday and Friday at 7 PM, Saturday at 2 PM, and Sunday at 6 pm. This timing allows theater enthusiasts to also enjoy the Lancaster Festival on Saturday evening and catch Beauty and the Beast at Ohio University Lancaster on Sunday, where several former VPCT performers will take the stage.
Tickets cost $15.00 can be purchased either online at vpct.ludus.com or at the door.
The cast, ranging in age from eight to 18, brings a fresh energy to this classic tale. The show is rated PG-13, with the primary roles filled by actors aged 13-18. Special permission was granted for younger children to audition for the roles of Young Cosette, Young Eponine, and Gavroche.
