The Alzheimer’s Association Central Ohio Chapter is teaming up with LevelUpLand Ohio to host a Technology outreach program on Monday, December 16 from 10:30 am – 1:30 pm at 1467 E. Long Street in Columbus. This first-of-its-kind event for seniors and families also will be supported by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the Franklin County Office on Aging.

This free program will help participants understand how gaming can improve online safety, motor skills and mental well-being. Additionally, guests will understand how gaming builds connections and fights loneliness among all age groups. Light refreshments will be provided.

“We are very excited to begin a partnership with LevelUpLand Ohio,” said Pam Myers, senior director, programs for the Alzheimer’s Association Central Ohio and Northwest Ohio Chapters. “Research has shown that people who want to reduce their risk of developing dementia and keep their brain healthy need fun activities where they can interact with others and decrease isolation, while staying cognitively active. Gaming provides all of the components to do that.”

Registration is not required, but the community may reach out to Missy Rouse at mrouse@alz.org with any questions.

Educational programs and support groups are held across Central Ohio each month. Visit alz.org/CRF to explore additional education programs near you.
