Lancaster Men’s Chorus Prepares for 54th “Ham and Eggs” Show

March 16, 2025

The Lancaster Men’s Chorus is tuning up for its 54th annual Ham and Eggs production, a long-running musical variety show that raises scholarship funds for local high school musicians.

This year’s performances will be held May 7–8 at 7:30 p.m. and May 9 at 3 p.m. at the Crossroads Ministry Center, 2095 W. Fair Ave., Lancaster.

Described as a “scramble of music, hi-jinks and laughter,” Ham and Eggs has entertained audiences for decades while supporting student musicians. Since establishing a scholarship fund in 1976, the chorus has awarded more than $125,000 to local students.

The theme for this year’s show is “Time Machine,” taking audiences on a musical journey from the Stone Age to the Space Age. Characters such as Fred Flintstone, King Tut and the Jetsons help guide the adventure in the first half of the show.

The second half, directed by Mark Severance, features songs from The Beatles, The Beach Boys and other hits from the 1950s and 1960s.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.

The Lancaster Men’s Chorus remains Fairfield County’s longest continuously operating non-profit, non-religious musical organization.

Men interested in joining the chorus are invited to rehearsals at 7:30 p.m. Mondays at First United Methodist Church in Lancaster.
