FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care Partners with Lancaster Golf Club for 1st Annual Gordon B. Snider, MD Memorial Golf Outing

LANCASTER, Ohio — FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care excitedly announces their partnership with The Snider Family and Lancaster Golf Club for the 1st Annual Gordon B. Snider, MD Memorial Golf Outing on Monday, September 15. This special event honors Dr. Snider’s legacy in the community while benefiting the FAIRHOPE Hospice Memorial Fund.
A “founding father” of FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Dr. Snider was instrumental in the inception and vision of its mission. His expertise in the medical field contributed to the founding of FAIRHOPE’s inpatient hospice facility, The Pickering House, named after Virginia L. Pickering, whom Dr. Snider tended to as her primary physician.
Upon his passing on October 7, 2024, Dr. Snider was celebrated for his vast achievements and generosity throughout his life. Alongside his late wife, Mary Louise, they are honored by a dedicated space at The Pickering House, where their namesake is displayed in reverence of their legacy.
“I had the privilege of golfing with Dr. Snider at a Fairfield Medical Center Foundation golf outing, where he intentionally took the time to teach and mentor me on the golf course,” said Kristin Glasure, FAIRHOPE President and CEO. “Teaching was at his core, and I can’t think of a more heartfelt way to honor the personal experiences and interactions we’ve shared with him over the years than through a hobby he shared with us all.”
The 1st Annual Gordon B. Snider, MD Memorial Golf Outing pays tribute to his lifelong passion for the sport. During his 65-year amateur career, he was the Lancaster Country Club champion three times and the Senior Champion an additional two times.

The golf outing will be held on September 15 at 1:30 p.m. with a shotgun start at the Lancaster Golf Club, located at 3100 Country Club Rd. SW in Lancaster, OH 43113.
