Summer at Wahkeena wouldn’t be complete without the buzzing of dragonflies! Learn the identifying characteristics of Lake Odonata’s dragonflies. We will focus on what to look for to identify dragonflies while in the field.  This program is for ages 12 and older.

Where to Meet

Meet at 1:00 p.m. in the nature center.  The program is approximately 90 minutes.

What to Bring

Be prepared for hot and sunny conditions. We suggest you bring binoculars (if you have them), drinking water, sun hat, sunscreen, insect repellent. Wear comfortable shoes. Select your footwear to match weather conditions.

We hope you will come early or stay after the program to enjoy other areas of the preserve!  Wahkeena Nature Preserve is open 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday (closed Mondays-Tuesdays) from mid-March through mid-November.
