The Victoria Players Children’s Theater (VPCT) is making a splash with their latest production, Finding Nemo Jr. This heartwarming adaptation of the beloved animated film invites audiences of all ages to join in the underwater escapade as the talented young cast navigates the vast and vibrant sea.

Weston Rogers stars as Marlin, the overly cautious clownfish father who embarks on an epic journey to find his adventurous son, Nemo. Alongside Marlin is the forgetful yet endearing blue tang fish, Dory, portrayed by Amélie Baum, whose optimistic mantra to “just keep swimming” becomes a guiding light through their trials and tribulations. Wren Dawson captures the spirit of the curious and brave Nemo, whose tale underscores the timeless theme of family and belonging.

With a cast of 34 children, ranging from 5 to 16 years old, the production is a testament to the blossoming talent and passion for the arts within the community. Under the direction of Abby Todd, these young actors have not only honed their theatrical skills but have also formed a bond akin to a family of their own.

“It has been a blast working with these kids and seeing their love of theater grow,” shares Todd.

The show promises 45 minutes of non-stop action, laughter, and memorable melodies that will leave audiences humming long after the curtain falls. It’s a spectacle that showcases the dedication and joy that only children’s theater can bring to the stage.

Show dates are June 20-22 at 7 pm plus a 2 pm matinee on Sunday, June 23. The tickets are almost sold out. At publication time, the best bet for reserving a seat was Saturday, June 22.
