Community Notification from the Library Director

May 16, 2025
Temporary Suspension of OhioLINK and SearchOhio Services May 23 – August 1, 2025

Dear Pickerington Public Library Community,

I want to inform you that, due to a statewide system upgrade, OhioLINK and SearchOhio borrowing and lending services will be temporarily suspended from May 23 through August 1, 2025. This upgrade is necessary to improve the reliability, efficiency, and overall functionality of resource sharing across all participating libraries in Ohio.

During this temporary pause:

  • You will not be able to place new requests for materials through OhioLINK or SearchOhio.
  • Items currently borrowed through these services may still be returned to any library as usual.
  • Existing holds may be affected depending on timing. Our staff will reach out with any updates or changes that may impact your requests.

We understand how valuable these services are to our customers and want to assure you that we are committed to supporting your library needs throughout this period. While OhioLINK and SearchOhio are unavailable, we encourage you to:

  • Explore our extensive local collection—our staff are ready to assist with finding comparable materials.
  • Take advantage of our digital resources, including eBooks, audiobooks, and streaming services available through Libby.
  • Suggest a purchase if there is a specific item you’d like to see added to our collection.
  • Reach out to us directly for help finding alternative resources or assistance with your search.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work together to improve library services across Ohio. If you have any questions, please contact us at communications@pickeringtonlibrary.org .

Sincerely,
Tony Howard
Director, Pickerington Public Library
