COLUMBUS, Ohio – Following a national search, Keirsten S. Moore, Ph.D., has been appointed provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at Capital University. A member of the Capital faculty since 1993, Moore has served the institution as professor, dean, associate provost, and interim provost.
“I am deeply honored to serve as Provost of Capital University and grateful for the opportunity to continue this work in partnership with President Jared Tice. I believe in the strength of this institution, in our expert and committed faculty and staff, and in the extraordinary potential of our students,” Moore said.

In her roles as interim vice president and interim provost, Moore has led academic affairs, accreditation and assessment, and academic planning and budgeting, collaborating closely with faculty governance and student affairs leaders. She will continue overseeing these core areas as Capital’s provost and chief academic officer and a member of the President’s Cabinet. She has taught leadership and management courses across undergraduate and graduate programs, mentored students, and supported faculty initiatives that reflect Capital’s mission of providing a personal, career-connected education in Columbus that prepares students for meaningful careers and purposeful lives.
Jared Tice, Ed.D., president of Capital University, noted that his partnership with Moore has been defined by candor, shared accountability, and data-informed decision-making.
“Since the beginning of my tenure, I have had the privilege of working in close partnership with Dr. Moore during one of the most complex and consequential periods in the life of a university,” said Tice. “Her executive leadership, institutional wisdom, and unwavering commitment to Capital have been evident every day. She approaches leadership with clarity, humility, and a deep respect for faculty life and shared governance.”
Moore earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Miami University; a Master of Labor and Human Resources from The Ohio State University; and a doctorate in Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management from Ohio State. Her scholarship and teaching focus on leadership, organizational behavior, and workplace effectiveness.
