From the Fairfield County Auditor’s Office
Fairfield County Auditor, Dr. Carri L. Brown, learned on Jan. 14 that the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded Fairfield County with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This award is based on the production of the annual comprehensive financial report for the year ended December 31, 2023. The report has been judged by an independent panel to meet high standards for financial reporting.
The annual comprehensive financial report is found here.
Brown stated, “The GFOA Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Its attainment represents a significant accomplishment.
Thank you to the County Auditor’s team, the State Auditor, elected officials and department heads of Fairfield County, and to GFOA, all of whom have worked hard to produce the report, provide data, develop guidance, or interpret standards.”
