Pickerington Police Reports September 7-13, 2026

September 7

2:32 p.m. Police responded to a report of a fight at the Sycamore Creek Park basketball courts. By the time officers arrived, most of the combatants had dispersed, but they found a bloodied 15-year-old boy with the beginnings of a black eye.

At first, the boy refused to answer questions, saying, “I plead the fifth” and “I’m a minor.” Eventually, he told officers that he had been jumped by a group of 30 people who took his cellphone and shoes.

He believed the attack was retaliation for a previous altercation outside Pickerington Central High School during a home basketball game.

The boy declined an offer to be examined by Violet Township medics. His father arrived to take him home.

9:38 p.m. Near the Franklin County line, a Kia Sportage reportedly left the right side of Long Road and continued westbound in the ditch. As the vehicle approached a driveway, it climbed over the culvert and struck a boulder on the other side.

The driver, a 43-year-old Columbus woman, attempted to steer the SUV back onto Long Road but was unable to do so because of a flat rear tire and the front driver’s-side wheel, which had been “shredded off its axle.”

When police arrived, the woman reportedly told officers that her car had been pulling to the left all day. Combined with recent numbness in her left arm, episodes of dizziness and a possible infection from her broken teeth, she said, the problem contributed to the crash.

The woman also reportedly told officers that she had just left Squeek’s Bar & Grill, where she had met friends, but had consumed only one Angry Orchard. Reiterating that illness likely contributed to the crash, she allegedly explained that she had “driven drunk plenty of times,” but that night she had fallen over while trying to put on her shoes.

At the police station, she refused to take a breath test. An officer warned her that refusing the test would result in an automatic driver’s license suspension. However, a records check revealed that her license was already suspended. Pickerington police also had an active warrant for her on charges of driving under suspension.

7:01 p.m. A staff member at OhioHealth Pickerington Methodist Hospital overheard a 55-year-old man muttering to himself about “going to blow this place up.” Hospital security declined to press charges but wanted to file a report.

September 9

2:01 a.m. Dispatch reported that a vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Hill Road near Refugee Road. An officer reportedly spotted the Chevrolet Equinox speeding and weaving between lanes and pulled it over near Taylor Road in Reynoldsburg.

Upon approaching the vehicle, officers noticed a half-full 1.5-liter bottle of lime margarita on the floorboard beneath the steering column. The driver, a 23-year-old Columbus woman, confirmed that the liquid was alcoholic but said she had consumed only two beers at the movies and a Blue Moon afterward at Donerick’s Pub.

Following field sobriety tests, the woman was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. After transporting her to the station, officers discovered additional open alcohol containers in her car. She agreed to a breath test and registered a blood alcohol concentration of 0.194%. Ohio’s legal limit is 0.08%.

9:12 a.m. Pickerington Schools turned over a counterfeit $1 bill to police but did not identify the school building where it had been confiscated.

September 10

8:44 a.m. The human resources manager for Firehouse Subs reported that a manager had created a fictitious employee and falsely clocked the employee in for approximately a year.

12:46 p.m. Staff at BP asked police to issue a no-trespass order to a 41-year-old Tallmadge man who refused to leave. By the time police arrived, the man had relocated to Little Caesars. He allegedly told officers that he was a patient at Solero Behavior Center and had hoped to buy marijuana to help him wean himself off harder narcotics.

2:05 p.m. A resident of the Knight’s Bridge neighborhood reported that a woman had broken the windows of a parked car. Police identified the alleged perpetrator as a 22-year-old Pickerington woman and discovered that the vehicle belonged to her mother.

2:42 p.m. The Suffolk Police Department’s Fugitive Unit asked Pickerington police to locate a 41-year-old Pickerington man wanted on two counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of sexual contact with animals. An officer spotted the man’s 2018 Ram truck traveling on Brighton Street and pulled it over. The man was arrested without incident and transported to the Fairfield County Jail.

4:02 p.m. A loss prevention officer at Kohl’s reported that a woman was leaving the store with travel-size fragrances hidden in her clothing. When police arrived, the 24-year-old suspect reportedly said she had left everything inside the store. Officers found no stolen merchandise in her possession but arrested her on an outstanding warrant from Warren County.

10:29 p.m. At the Wendy’s near the interstate, a Pickerington DoorDash driver allegedly threw a partially consumed water bottle at an employee, striking him in the face. Witnesses reported that the 28-year-old woman had initially refused to comply with the restaurant’s policy requiring couriers to show staff the order information on their phones.

September 11

3:23 a.m. A Columbus man told police that someone at a party he attended in the Cherry Hill neighborhood had stolen his gun.

September 12

2:33 a.m. An officer on patrol reported seeing a Honda Pilot come to a sudden stop on Windmiller Drive. The officer approached the driver, a 48-year-old Columbus man, and noticed that he had bloodshot eyes and appeared confused. After conducting field sobriety tests and observing multiple indicators of impairment, the officer arrested the man for driving while intoxicated, operating a vehicle without registration, driving under suspension and failing to wear a seat belt.

September 13

1:15 a.m. Following a traffic stop on Interstate 70 near the Hill Road interchange, police arrested a 23-year-old man from Kent City, Michigan, on a drug possession charge.

8:16 a.m. Unknown individuals broke into multiple vehicles parked in the Overland Park community.
