Fall is coming, and so are the scarecrows! Visit Fairfield County invites residents and businesses to participate in the Fairfield County Trail of Scarecrows, an annual contest held in communities throughout the county.
Participants create a scarecrow, display it outside their home or business and add it to the digital trail. During October, visitors can travel throughout Fairfield County to find the scarecrows and vote for their favorites. Businesses without a physical location can add their display to approved community spaces.
This year’s theme is “America 250”.
The People’s Choice winner in each participating community will receive a $50 Visa gift card, sponsored by Visit Fairfield County. All winners receive a commemorative plaque, with additional prizes awarded in 10 judged categories.
Registration is open through Sept. 30. Create a scarecrow and help Fairfield County live up to its title as the “Scarecrow Capital of Ohio.”
