8:05 a.m. Someone broke into multiple work vehicles parked at a construction site near Sycamore Creek Elementary and stole more than $20,000 worth of equipment.
4:04 p.m. Children entered an unoccupied, newly built home in Longview Highlands and caused more than $500 in damage.
5:38 p.m. A 23-year-old Pickerington man turned himself in at the police station on an outstanding warrant from Lancaster Police.
10:03 p.m. Staff at Country Inn & Suites reported a disturbance on the third floor. When police arrived, officers allegedly heard a loud male voice threatening someone with harm from the hallway. Upon entering the room, officers encountered a 16-year-old Pickerington boy, who allegedly lunged at his stepfather. As police attempted to restrain him, the boy allegedly punched one officer several times in the head and bit him on the cheek.
July 28
5:36 a.m. Police cited a 22-year-old Canal Winchester man for failing to maintain reasonable control of his vehicle after he struck a guardrail on I-70 near Hill Road.
July 29
6:29 a.m. Someone stole a vehicle parked at a home near Dairy Queen. Columbus Police later spotted the vehicle but were unable to recover it. The following morning, officers discovered that at least eight other vehicles along Montmorency Drive had been broken into, presumably by the same perpetrators.
8:41 a.m. The City of Pickerington finance manager reported that someone had attempted to cash nearly $5,000 in fraudulent city checks.
10:14 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a non-breathing 3-month-old baby and assisted with CPR until medics arrived. An investigation is pending.
1:19 p.m. An employee at GetGo reported that an apparently intoxicated 71-year-old Pickerington man had purchased a large can of Budweiser, taken a swig and then driven away. Officers allegedly found him parked behind Giant Eagle with the open beer in the center console of his GMC Savana.
3:38 p.m. A 40-year-old Pickerington man reported that his identity had been used to obtain a loan for a school in Texas.
July 30
12:00 p.m. A 46-year-old Pickerington man allegedly broke into a vehicle parked on Nightingale Court and stole the registration card and other papers.
6:42 p.m. An Amazon driver struck a vehicle parked along the street in Melrose.
July 31
5:09 a.m. An officer pulled over a landscaping truck after it ran a red light in front of LongHorn Steakhouse. The 32-year-old Columbus man driving the truck did not have a valid driver’s license.
7:42 p.m. A clerk at BP asked police to issue a “No Trespass” order to a 38-year-old Pickerington man who repeatedly walked back and forth past the counter, staring at her and smiling. When officers arrived, they asked the man if he had taken any drugs. He reportedly replied that he was “high on everything.”
August 1
2:08 p.m. A 17-year-old Pickerington girl lost control of her vehicle on the exit ramp from I-70 to Hill Road. The vehicle struck a tree and caught fire.
August 2
4:54 a.m. A dark-colored truck reportedly struck the median on Hill Road in front of Steak ’n Shake and fled the scene. Police discovered a Chevrolet hubcap near a traffic sign that had been knocked over.
5:24 a.m. Suspects who had reportedly broken into more than 35 vehicles fled Longview Highlands in a stolen car when police arrived, nearly striking several cruisers. Columbus Police later recovered the stolen vehicle after it was involved in a shooting.
