The Pickerington North Lady Panthers took their third win of the season on the road, defeating Pickerington Central 3-1 in the Lady Tigers’ home/season opener on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
The Panthers took the first set 26-24 and the second set 25-20, however the Tigers managed to win the third set 25-22 to prevent the shutout. The Tiger attempt to push the match to a fifth set was in vain, as North won the fourth 25-19.
North was led by Junior Paige Swisher, who posted a 96.0 Serving Percentage in addition to 17 Digs and an Ace. She was recognized as the Panthers Player of the Game for her efforts.
On the front end, Senior RS Rasherly Caceres, led the Panthers in Kills (15) and Blocks (4) while Setter Madsion Smith put up 41 assists.
The Panthers (3-0) next take to the court on Saturday, Aug. 29 in a Tri-Match against Upper Arlington and Thomas Worthington starting at 10am; The Tigers (0-1) next match is also on the 29th, as they participate in Lancaster’s Shaner-Worher Memorial Tournament starting at 9am.
