Pickerington Police

January 22

1:49 p.m. On December 9 and 10, the videos allegedly show a 60-year-old Columbus man leaving five different Giant Eagle locations including Pickerington stealing a combined haul of: 11 cases of Monster energy drinks, 12 cases of White Claw, 17 cases of Bud Light, 23 cases of Modelo, 26 cases of soft drinks, 1 case of water, 4 packs of toilet paper, 5 packs of paper towels and 1 container of fried chicken. The total cost of the merchandise equaled $27,950.07.

January 23

1:05 a.m. Twelve minutes after her sister picked her up from the Pickerington Police station for allegedly drunk driving (she had blown a 0.217 on the breath analyzer), a 23-year-old Houston, Texas woman was pulled over for driving drunk through Pickerington Village.  Her vehicle was impounded.

11:35 a.m. Someone broke into several homes being constructed in the Graystone North subdivision (near the corner of Refugee and Milnor). They stole hardware including hinges, doorknobs and a garage door motor.

January 24

2:26 p.m. A Pickerington man reported someone opened a credit card in his name and spent $500.

January 25

2:19 p.m. A backpack with school supplies including a computer was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked near Long Road.

9:29 a.m. Items totaling $1440.01 including wooden boards, a sump pump and a water heater were stolen from homes under construction in the Graystone North subdivision.

3:09 p.m. A woman reported that a check she had mailed using the blue collection box outside the post office had been stolen, rewritten and cashed for $8,600.

3:10 p.m. A woman reported that a check she had mailed via her own mailbox, had been stolen and cashed for $365.

4:00 p.m. A man turned in a wallet to the police station. He said that he found the wallet on Harmon Road “a while back” but did not turn it in right away because it had been “soaking wet”. As the man was leaving the station, he said, “I hope the guy is not dead.” The owner of the wallet had indeed passed away in September 2021.

5:24 p.m. A 19-year-old Pickerington man pulled his Honda into the police station parking lot. He was followed immediately by a 48-year-old man from Walnut Township driving a Ford.  The Pickerington man and his passenger, a 21-year-old Reynoldsburg woman, exited their vehicle and approached the Ford.

As the woman shouted, the man sprayed Spectracide Wasp Spray into the face of the man from Walnut Township who then exited his vehicle to tackle the teen to the pavement.

The woman began to beat and kick the man until he released the 19-year-old. The parties remained separated until the police arrived. Everyone corroborated that the fight began as a road rage incident on I-270.

6:33 p.m. A 29-year-old woman from Waverly and a 35-year-old woman from Columbus were allegedly caught stealing merchandise from Kohls totaling more than $1,900.  They both had active warrants.

8:11 p.m. A man stole juice and cigarettes totaling $190.14 from Speedway.

January 27

10:12 a.m. An 80-year-old Pickerington man told police that he had received an email receipt from “PayPal” for a gun costing $799.  When he called the number from the email, the person with whom he spoke required remote access to his computer as well as his social security and driver’s license numbers.

The person on the phone told the man that the issue had been resolved and that $7,999 had been returned to the man’s account.  When the man responded that the amount was only to be $799, the person advised that to fix the issue the man needed to deposit $7,200 into a Bitcoin account. 

Later, after speaking with his family, the man came to realize that he had been the victim of fraud.

6:06 p.m. A man and two women wearing masks stole fragrances totaling $3,702 from Ulta Beauty.

January 28

1:19 p.m. A 36-year-old Columbus woman allegedly attempted to steal $1,282.50 in merchandise from Kohls.

7:25 p.m. Two Columbus women and their daughters (ages 12 to 17) began fighting each other at Marcus Cinema. The women said that that their families have had a history of fighting.

7:29 p.m. A man allegedly removed anti-theft devices from pellet guns at Tractor Supply then left the store without paying for them. The total value of guns was $309.95.

January 23

  • 400 block of Mill Rd. SW, Hocking Twp., vandalism, unknown subject struck victims barn, report taken.

  • 3200 block of Wheeling Rd. NE, Pleasant Twp., 26 yr. old male transported to medical facility for a medical evaluation.

January 24

  • Area of Washington St./Groveport Rd., Canal Winchester, traffic stop, 20 yr. old male arrested for an outstanding warrant and transported to the Fairfield County Jail.
