Pickerington Police

January 16

3:31 a.m. A 27-year-old Cincinnati man was pulled over for allegedly driving 70 mph on Diley Road. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant. 

2:59 p.m. When an employee of the Kroger on Hill Road asked a man to show the receipt for his cart of unbagged groceries, he allegedly said, “I don’t need a receipt. I’m taking this shit.” Then left.  The employee followed and noted the license plate number on the man’s red truck.

A police cruiser followed the man with lights and sirens, but the truck cut through parking lots at a great rate of speed.  The officer stopped his pursuit when the suspect began speeding northbound on Hill Road in the southbound lanes near Tussing Road.

4:32 p.m. A 24-year-old Columbus woman allegedly attempted to steal $835.48 worth of items from Kroger on Hill Road.

4:40 p.m. A 45-year-old Pickerington woman and her 20-year-old daughter were allegedly rude to a McDonald’s staff member.  An 18-year-old coworker intervened which led to an argument.  The 49-year-old husband/father overheard the verbal fight through his daughter’s cell phone, so he drove to the restaurant. Employees physically separated the two men until the father left.

January 17

9:58 a.m. A check that Seton Parish mailed from the Post Office on December 7 was stolen, rewritten for $10,438.94 then duplicated.  The two forged checks were cashed at different banks.

January 18

12:18 p.m. A 58-year-old Pickerington man was notified by his bank that the check he mailed from the box in front of the post office on January 9 had been stolen, rewritten and cashed for $8,442.75. The check was cashed near the intended recipient in Springboro, Ohio. Police suspect it was not taken from the Pickerington box.

 

 

January 19

11:10 a.m. A man’s wallet was stolen from his vehicle parked outside Planet Fitness.

1:13 p.m. A 46-year-old Pickerington man had his car seized for failure to pay child support after he was caught driving 57 mph on Diley Road.

4:03 p.m. A 51-year-old Columbus man allegedly withdrew $40,000 from the account of his 85-year-old aunt in Pickerington.

January 21

5:00 p.m. Workers allegedly took money from the concession stand during an event at Ridgeview Junior High.

7:24 p.m. Two fifteen-year-old girls allegedly fought in the commons of Pickerington Central while a basketball tournament was taking place in the gym.  One girl was from Pickerington North and the other was from Whetstone High School, neither school was involved in the tournament.

10:28 p.m. A 27-year-old Frankfort man met his girlfriend’s father (a 52-year-old Pataskala man) at Jay’s Crab Boil and Oyster Bar to ask permission to marry his daughter.  The two allegedly drank then got into an argument which escalated into the older man punching the younger in the face.

6:58 p.m. A man alleged that someone stole $200.00 from the wallet of his 90-year-old mother at Story Point Senior Living.

  • Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office Lobby, theft, unknown subject stole equipment from a work vehicle in the 3100 block of Hamburg Rd. SW, Hocking Twp., report taken.
  • 100 block of W. Main St., Lancaster, traffic stop, citation issued.
  • 100 block of E. Main St., Bremen, 67 yr. old female transported to medical facility for a medical evaluation.

January 18

  • Area of 4900 block of Plum Rd. NW, Greenfield Twp., traffic stop, 32 yr. old male arrested for outstanding warrant out of Hocking County, transported to Hocking County Sheriff’s Office.
  • 3800 block of Old Logan Rd. SE, Berne Twp., domestic dispute, 57 yr. old female transported to medical facility for a medical evaluation.
  • 7800 block of Spring Mill Dr. NW, Violet Twp., disabled vehicle, 36 yr. old female arrested for OVI and transported to the Fairfield County Jail.
  • 10000 block of Snortin Ridge Rd. SW, Madison Twp., domestic dispute, 45 yr. old male arrested and transported to the Fairfield County Jail.
  • Area of Pleasantville Rd. NE/Stringtown Rd. NE, Greenfield Twp., investigate complaint, 29 yr. old male arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication and transported to the Fairfield County Jail.
  • 8800 block of Basil Western Rd. NW, Violet Twp., theft, multiple items stolen from vehicle trailer, report taken.
  • 200 W. Marietta St., Bremen, petty theft, thefts of street signs, report taken.

January 21

January 22

  • Cincinnati-Zanesville Rd. NE/Tent Rd. NE, public indecency, 40 yr. old male arrested and transported to the Fairfield County Jail.
  • 13000 block of Rosewood Rd. NE, Walnut Twp., suspicious vehicle, 27 yr. old male arrested for outstanding warrant, 28 yr. old male arrested for violation of protection order, both transported to the Fairfield County Jail.
