Pickerington Comm. Shred Day Sept. 24

September 4, 2022

MMA Insurance and the Smile Doctors of Rob Forche Orthodontics will be hosting their 7th annual Shred, Food and Clothing drive at Peace United Methodist Church (235 Diley Road) on September 24 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.

For every box of bag to be shredded, the sponsors suggest a donation of $5.00 to Bottoms Up Diaper Drive.

Per the organization’s website, “Bottoms Up Diaper Drive was founded in August, 2018 by Tim and Jo Welsh as an outgrowth of their love for one another, their faith, and their desire to help meet the needs of families who can’t afford enough diapers to keep their children clean, dry, and healthy.”

Since then, Bottoms Up has delivered more than 560,000 diapers to over 70 food pantries and child care facilities in central Ohio for distribution to those in need.

In 2021, the Community Shred Day collected donations totalling $3,325.60.

In addition to raising money for Bottoms up, volunteers will be collecting donations of non-perishable food and winter clothing (coats, hats, scarves and gloves/mittens) to help students in the Pickerington Local School District and other families in Pickerington/Violet Township community.
