A Go Fund Me page has been established for the family of Tynan Douglas, a 2013 graduate of Pickerington High School Central, who accidentally drowned on December 26.

While at Central, Douglas participated in the drama club, the track team and the football team.

After his high school graduation, he studied at the University of Chicago on full scholarship, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science with honors.

Douglas was living in San Francisco working as a software engineer with Google in the YouTube Division.

On the morning of December 27, a local fisherperson spotted Douglas in the small pond behind the Best Western (1899 Winderly Lane) and called 911.

Per police reports, Douglas had already passed by the time the fisherperson found him. When the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team pulled him from the water his body displayed no signs of physical trauma.

Douglas’ abandoned suitcase had been found and turned in at the motel lobby. A torn airport claim ticket attached to the luggage matched a partial ticket found at the pond.
