#GivingTuesday is right around the corner, and Pickerington Public Library would like your support.

The holiday season is fast approaching, which means it is time to think about year-end giving plans. #GivingTuesday, a nationwide movement to raise awareness of community philanthropy, is celebrated through Fairfield County Foundation’s 32-Hour Give event.

By participating in the 32-Hour Give at the Fairfield County Foundation this #GivingTuesday, you have a unique opportunity to maximize your impact at the local level and transform your community. This year, the Fairfield County Foundation is ready to help local community members increase their impact by awarding $32,000 in gifts, matching donations made over the 32-Hour Give (made beginning November 30th at 8 am through December 1st at 4 pm)!

At the Fairfield County Foundation, Pickerington Public Library is listed under Organizational Endowment Funds. This type of fund is established by nonprofit organizations to provide income to them. The Foundation handles all administrative and investment responsibilities, freeing the library to pursue its strategy and mission. The principal is held in perpetuity, and the Foundation will transmit the income in accordance with the library’s specific instructions.

Make #GivingTuesday and charitable giving part of your holiday traditions along with Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Consider supporting Pickerington Public Library on #Giving Tuesday during the 32-Hour Give. Maximize your impact and celebrate giving this holiday season.

This is the eighth year that the Foundation has coordinated this special fundraising event to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities.

“The Fairfield County community has really embraced #GivingTuesday and our ‘Get Your Give On’ events at the Foundation, with new donors participating every year,” said Amy Eyman, Executive Director of the Fairfield County Foundation. “We have raised nearly $685,000 through these events and when you add the Foundation’s match, that’s more than $880,000 to support our community. We are incredibly grateful to all of the donors and community members who have participated and worked to raise awareness of this unique annual event.”

How it works:
• Any donor or non-profit wishing to receive matching funds during the 32-Hour Give must donate to a fund at the Fairfield County Foundation, as all donations and matching dollars will be added to the designated fund.

• Donors and non-profit organizations should secure new donations from individuals — that must be made online at www.fairfieldcountyfoundation.org through the Donate Now link or in person at the Fairfield County Foundation offices—during the event’s specified date and time. Donations sent through the mail will not count toward the match.

• At least $32,000 in matching gifts will be awarded. All donations received during the 32-Hour Give will be eligible for matching funds on a pro rata basis, which gives everyone who participates the opportunity to have their donations increased.

• The matching gifts will be distributed based on the percentage each fund receives of the total contributions made during the 32-Hour Give. For example, a fund with donations that account for 5% of the total 32-Hour Give contributions would receive 5% of the $32,000 in matching funds, or $1,600. No single gift, by an individual, to a single organization, can receive more than 20% of the total match amount.
