SUMMARY:Frontier Militia Muster
DESCRIPTION:Captain Joseph Ogle’s Company\, Ohio County (Virginia) Militia presents\nFrontier Militia Muster\nin 1777\, while General George Washington’s young army faced off against the British in the east\, much of the protection of the western frontier was left to local county militia units. The defense of families who lived in the panhandle of Western Virginia along the Ohio River fell to the brave men of the Ohio County Militia. Far from professional soldiers\, the members of the militia\, in addition to carving out their existence in a near wilderness\, would “muster” regularly to share news\, train in military tactics\, socialize\, and generally patrol the frontier areas in which they lived.\nThe recreated Captain Joseph Ogle’s Company\, Ohio County (Virginia) Militia invites you to meet their members to discuss the lives of those intrepid souls who took it upon themselves to defend lives\, homes and property. Experience what an average day was like and activities that filled their time\, what foods they ate\, and how they passed any down time.\nPETS\nPets are welcome at Smeck Park but we ask that you not bring pets to this program.\nSATURDAY\, JUNE 11\, 2022 AT 12 PM – 8 PM\nSUNDAY\, JUNE 12\, 2022 AT 7 AM – 3 PM\nShare this:\n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Reigniting Gay Fad Studios
DESCRIPTION:60 years ago\, a decorated glassware company called Gay Fad Studios led by Fran Taylor\, closed following 24 years of a meteoric rise to international acclaim. Gay Fad Studios was a uniquely American story where hard work\, determination\, and creativity paved the way to unbelievable success. It was also a uniquely Lancaster\, Ohio story as the company was headquartered here from 1945-1962. The story had been all but forgotten until recent efforts aimed to raise its visibility and importance within the community. \nPlease join us as David and Jason Annecy formally announce the next phase of reigniting Gay Fad Studios’ story and reach. We encourage attendance as they set out to contribute to Lancaster’s historical downtown and to our identity as a Glass Town that we hold dear. \nShare this:\n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n Like this:Like Loading...

SUMMARY:Mandala Dot Painting
DESCRIPTION:Let us help you make a kindness stone with mandala dot painting! A kindness stone is a rock of any size decorated with a design or an inspirational message. When you create one\, leave it somewhere for another person to find and enjoy. The finder may take it and leave one of his own in its place. Your stone could brighten someone’s entire day! \nRock painting supplies will be set up in the picnic shelter at Zeller Park from 9:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. on Saturday\, July 9. Stop by anytime during those hours. An instructor will help you create your own masterpiece to take home with you. It usually takes about 20 minutes to complete a project. A family-friendly craft. \nZeller Park is at 8475 Benadum Rd in Carroll (off Pickerington Rd\, just south of US-33). The park is open daily during daylight hours. There is a playground\, soccer fields\, and plenty of room to play\, picnic\, and to walk with your pets. \nGet details about this and many other programs at fairfieldcountyparks.org/events \nShare this:\n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n Like this:Like Loading...
