Everyone is encouraged to participate at their own comfort level\, and staff will guide the conversation to keep it fun and welcoming. \nAt the end of each meeting\, participants will be assigned a few chapters to read at home before the next session. When we return\, we’ll discuss what we read and continue the adventure together. Rising 3rd–5th graders will explore friendship\, adventure\, and teamwork when we dive into The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. \nDuring weekly meetups\, we’ll take turns reading aloud\, pause to talk about what’s happening\, and share our thoughts\, predictions\, and favorite moments. Everyone is encouraged to participate at their own comfort level\, and staff will guide the conversation to keep it fun and welcoming. \nAt the end of each meeting\, participants will be assigned a few chapters to read at home before the next session. When we return\, we’ll discuss what we read and continue the adventure together. SUMMARY:Curator for a Day: 2-Day Program for Teens/Tweens
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Pickerington Historical Society\n\n\n\nLearn what it takes to work in a museum\, uncover local history\, and create a display to share what you’ve learned! Day 1 (2pm-4pm) at Pickerington Historical Society Day 2 (10am-4pm) at Pickerington Main Library \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis two-day program will teach participants the basics of museum work while discovering local history. \nTweens and teens will visit the Pickerington Historical Society to tour the museum and learn about Pickerington history and what museum curators do. They will then learn the basic skills behind curating museum exhibitions and conducting historical research. With that knowledge\, they will curate an exhibition of their own using items in the Pickerington Historical Society and Pickerington Public Library Ohio collections.
