SUMMARY:Freedom 5K & Kids Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:The Freedom 5k & Kids’ Fun Run is a family friendly event to celebrate the birth of our nation. \nTake a break from the concrete as this event is a 5k run that winds its way through the Pickerington High School North XC course. The 5k course is an OHSAA certified 5\,000m course with varied terrain through woods and practice fields. There is very little elevation change on the course. Over 1200m of the course is run through wooded terrain. \nThe Central Ohio Regional Cross Country Championship is run on the Pickerington North XC course. The start and finish area is located within 100m of each other for a spectator-friendly viewing of the race. The run includes a Kids’ Fun Run in advance of the 5k event\, so be sure to bring the whole family! \nDate: Monday July 4\, 2022\nTimes: Day of event registration: 7:15 am\nKids’ Fun Run: 8:00 am \nOrthoNeuro Freedom 5k: 8:30 am\nLocation: Pickerington High School North XC course located at 7800 Refugee Road.\nParking: Parking is available at Pickerington High School North located at 7800 Refugee Road\, Pickerington\, OH 43147. \n  \n\n * * REMEMBER: You must register and pay by June 15 to receive a Freedom 5k T-Shirt and apple pie! * *REGISTER online Here. Please complete one online registration form for each participant. Children participating in the free run must be registered online and have the signature of a parent or guardian. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRace Number/Shirt Pick-Up:\nYou can pick up your race number and shirt at the registration table on Race Day just prior to the event. \nKids’ Fun Run:\nChildren and adults can participate in the FREE Fun Run. Participants will be divided into two groups. Kids’ 5 and under will run a 100 yard dash and kids’ 6-9 will run a 1/4 mile course. T-Shirts will not be available for participants in the Kids’ Fun Run; however\, all finishers will receive a ribbon! \nKids can enjoy activities like hula hoops\, jump rope\, and chalk drawing before the run. Both the Tiger and Panther mascots will make an appearance! DESCRIPTION:Visit the Fairfield County District Library on the third floor on Saturday\, January 18th for Creating a Beloved Community – a Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration with Guest Speaker Quanita Roberson! \nDr. Martin Luther King Jr. believed that we could create and nurture a beloved community. A beloved community is defined as a community where we are all valued as individuals with differences and collectively as one human family. In this session\, we will honor the legacy of Dr. King and explore ways to continue promoting a beloved community in Fairfield County. We will celebrate advancements and discuss things we can do on a daily basis to emphasis that we ALL matter and we ALL belong. \nAbout the Speaker: \nSpeaker Quanita Roberson holds a master’s degree in organizations management and development\, with a concentration in Integral Theory\, from the Fielding Institute.  Quanita is an author\, storyteller\, life coach\, master teacher/facilitator\, an international public speaker\, and a devotee of spiritual and emotional intelligence.  Over the past 20 years\, Quanita has provided a plethora of workshops and retreats covering a wide scope of fields including leadership development and diversity\, equity\, and inclusion.
