SUMMARY:Amistice Day Reenactment
DESCRIPTION:At 11:00 a.m. on November 11\, 1918\, World War I effectively came to an end when an armistice ended fighting on the Western Front. To commemorate the occasion\, the date became known as Armistice Day. In the United States\, the government later opted for the name Veterans Day to honor all American veterans\, living and dead.\nA group of WWI living historians will show visitors what life was like for Americans serving in Europe at the end of the war. Visitors will be able to interact with interpreters portraying battle-weary soldiers and aid workers who were sent overseas to provide soldiers with comforts from home. This is not a presentation that begins and ends at a certain time. Rather\, the living historians will be onsite at Smeck Park from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. \nPresented in partnership with Baltimore Community Museum. \nShare this:\n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n Like this:Like Loading...
