The Pickerington Public Library is set to host its second annual Community Resources Expo. The Expo is a one-day event that brings together access to free and low-cost services from local agencies and organizations.

Participating as part of the library’s Community Resources Expo, featured organizations include Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Fairfield County 211, Fairfield County Workforce Center, Habitat for Humanity, Lions Club, Meals on Wheels, Ohio Means Jobs, Pickerington Chamber of Commerce, Visit Fairfield County, United Way of Fairfield County, the YMCA, and many others. Inspiration for the Expo was based partly on the library’s mission of facilitating connections.

After last year’s successful turnout and the endless stories of people who found help within their own community, it was apparent that the need to know about support from job help to business opportunities, family resources, agency benefits and local involvement is always growing.

“Pickerington is a wonderful community with many resources focused on serving our community’s needs. The challenge most people face is knowing what is available. As the community’s reputable source for information, it only makes sense for the library to bring these resources together in one place for everyone,” said, Director Tony Howard.

“The response has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Information & Research Services Manager, Jennifer Hrusch, “New participants are coming on board every day. We are excited to partner with local organizations who also have a mission to serve and connect within the community. Together, we can join forces to provide essential resources to even more people.”

The Expo is scheduled for June 16 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Wigwam Event Center. The indoor event will include free access to each participating organization. Local food trucks will provide food and beverages for purchase. For more information, please visit the library’s website at pickeringtonlibrary.org.
